The homeschooling curriculum for each grade level has been designed to provide the proper homeschooling courses and curriculum necessary to learn grade level appropriate skills, while successfully preparing our students for the next grade level.
North Star is an accredited homeschool organization dedicated to ensuring the future success of each student.
By providing 24/7 access to our homeschooling curriculum, students are able to devise a learning schedule that works best for them. North Star has a full staff of academic counselors and teachers that are available to provide support as needed throughout the duration of the home schooling process.

Grade 9
Grade 9 students are introduced to a homeschooling program that teaches the skills needed for more advanced mathematics courses and develop the skills needed to solve advanced mathematical problem, the study and research of ancient and modern civilizations, societies, and historical periods, language studies through guided writing exercises for mastering English grammar and mechanics, strengthen reading skills through integrated experiences in the language arts using classical and contemporary literature selections and the history and purpose of outdoor education to develop skills in outdoor education activities and maintain or improve health-related fitness. Students that successfully complete the 9th grade online homeschool program are fully prepared to advance to the 10th grade with a solid foundation of critical and analytical thinking skills.
Grade 10
Grade 10 students in our homeschooling program will learn about transformations in the plane, understand congruence in terms of rigid motions, prove geometric theorems (and other geometric concepts), the scientific method, cell biology, basic principles of genetics, and biological changes through time, the chronological development of the American people, integrated language arts activities to include reading, writing, speaking, listening, language, and literature in preparation for college and career readiness, identify and learn to apply coping skills to manage daily stress and build positive relationships, and an understanding of global awareness and the interconnectedness of the global human population as well as its dynamic interactions with the natural world. Students the successfully complete the 10th grade online home school program have become more advanced in critical thinking and are fully prepared to advance into the 11th grade.
Grade 11
Grade 11 students enter our homeschooling program that will guide them to continue learning and working with the concepts of algebra including operations with matrices, relations, functions, and variation, develop elementary concepts about man's interaction with the environment, examine important historical documents and interpret their impact on our government and society, the concept of scarcity, supply and demand, resource allocation, institutional and governmental effects on consumer behavior, improve their reading skills, especially in vocabulary, attention to detail, identifying theme and tone, develop presentation projects in multi-media formats, analyze how historical events shape the development of culture, and understand why certain literary works are considered classic, the role of financial institutions and the consumer, consumer information and taxation and financial planning. Upon the successful completion of the 11th grade online home school program, students will have refined their critical thinking skills, achieved higher level if independent skills and better prepared for an online high school completion.
Grade 12
Grade 12 students explore a homeschooling program designed to start the college preparation process, engage in a review of the most common math concepts on a college placement test, acquire an understanding of the foundations of psychology theories and an appreciation for human behavior, develop a foundational understanding of contemporary literature through integrated educational experiences in the language arts strands, learn and demonstrate the introductory skills essential for gainful employment, including applications, resumes, and interviewing skills, and demonstrate college ready skills in math, language arts, social studies, and science. Graduates of our home school programs have acquired, not only an accredited High School Diploma, but also a higher level of learning and critical thinking skills that will allow them to stand out amongst their peers. Whether entering the next level of education or the workplace, their homeschooling education will help them pave the path of a successful future.
